The Ballet Wallet with Bobby Lee

The Ballet Wallet with Bobby Lee

With blockchain technology past its infancy and beyond the toddler years, more people are finding ways to bring these budding adolescents into the mainstream. I guess that’s one way to look at it. We’ve got a bunch of teenagers running around trying to be rocket scientists.

One such entrepreneur is Bobby Lee. While he’s no relation to Bruce Lee, he is brother to Charlie Lee, and he’s come out with what he claims to be the world’s first multicurrency non-electric physical wallet. It’s called Ballet and it looks like a very thick credit card that acts as offline cold storage for storing bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

But first, we’ll go down the rabbit hole of decentralized social media as we welcome Christopher Kramer of SoMee.social to the mic. You’ve heard us talk about this site and how they are rewarding users for posting and upvoting content on previous episodes. Today Chris will share more about how it works and why sites like this are so important to empower users.

It’s not quite The Jetsons but still a long way from The Flintstones. So let’s yabba-dabba-do it with episode #373 of The Bad Crypto Podcast.

ZenLedger is a SAAS company providing the best tax software for cryptocurrency investors. The idea behind ZenLedger is very simple: paying taxes is hard, and we make it easy. We help individual cryptocurrency investors and CPAs with their cryptocurrency accounting and tax returns. Cryptocurrency traders do a lot of trades across multiple exchanges, and it becomes very difficult to do the proper accounting and keep track of all your capital gains or capital losses. We help bringing all this data together and make paying cryptocurrency taxes an easy and seamless experience.

Giving The Gift of Crypto – Fighting the Good Fight

Guest blog post from Bad Crypto Podcast listener, Nicole DeCicco

Black Friday is nauseating.  I’ll never understand what motivates a herd of individuals to fight the crowds like a sea of soldiers going into battle.  I do, however, casually browse what might be brewing on Cyber Monday.  As I did so last month, sipping coffee in my pajamas, I realized we have a different battle to fight.  Having just checked Coin Market Cap to see what damage had been done during the night, maybe this was my attempt at a little retail therapy. Black Friday might be nauseating, but checking the Bitcoin price this morning at $3822 was gut-wrenching.  Even more upsetting, the fact we’ve lost nearly $95 billion of total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies from Nov 14 to Nov 25, a fall of close to 45 percent.

And so, with the contrasting feelings of watching my crypto disappear in front of my eyes and the pressure of holiday spending at the forefront of my mind, I had a Cyber Monday epiphany!  Can any of us really feel good about supporting big business while we are waging a war attacking the very fundamentals of the crypto revolution?  A bit hypocritical to throw money at retail giants while Bitcoin and Ethereum are bleeding like a trauma patient in the emergency room.

Are you feeling helpless in these dark days?  Wondering what you can do to fight the good fight?  While there is no simple solution, it really isn’t as complicated as we think.  We must be introspective.  Scrutinize our spending, shift our thinking and find ways to use crypto over fiat for our purchases!  The holidays are an obvious opportunity to do so.  I’m committing to giving the gift of crypto for the holidays.  Will you join me? COMMUNITY QUESTIONS!

“What happens once all the coins are mined?  Will the network still function without that incentive for miners to process transactions?” – Mark Osborne from Pensacola, FL

Great question, Mark.  (make sure to send us your bitshares ID, and we’ll send you some BADCOIN.)

So, Bitcoin won’t be finished mining for another 100+ years.  However, each transaction has a bit of transaction fee, and that transaction fee is the reward for the miners who allow that transaction onto the blockchain.

Keep in mind that some cryptocurrencies have all of the coins premined, and the only incentive is the transaction fees!

“Gents love the show.

Quick question I am looking to invest in a bunch of different coins.  From your show I have gathered it’s not a good idea to leave my coins on the exchange and it’s better to store in a wallet.

If I was to purchase 6 or 7 coins other than the big three ( some of the ones I am looking at are Ripple, Iota, Sia, Stratis, etc.) Does that mean I would have to get 6 or 7 different wallets that could hold these coins or is there a wallet that can hold most coins? Thanks” – David Pettigrew from Destination Unknown.

Spectacular question, good sir!  There are hardware devices that can hold multiple coins like Nano Ledger S and Trezor.  Other than that, you may need to download multiple wallets for each coin.  As not every coin is supported by those hardware devices.

STATE OF THE MARKET!

The state of the market is good. – Travis

Travis put together a Google spreadsheet for the community.  Get it here.

Big shout out to Brandon Janike who gave us this tip in an email in the past week.

You mentioned the =cryptofinance function on Google Sheets and I played around with it. Seems a little more time-consuming to set up than the way I have been using to keep track of my portfolio.

Instead, I use the function: =importhtml(“https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/“,”table”,0)

This will import all Cryptocurrencies from CoinMarketCap into your document and you can then use Index-Match equations to create your own portfolio. I’d be happy to share mine with you, if interested.

It sounds like what you are doing is working for you, but this is just another option if you want to try it out.

For this great tip, we are giving Brandon ONE MILLION BADCOIN!  Make sure to email us your bitshares ID, good sir!

NEWS WITH SHAWN & ALISTAIR

Cue the badpipes.

In Scotland, the first ever flat was sold in Glasgow for 10,000,000 Scotcoin. (whatever that is.)

According to CoinMarketCap, it’s a worthless coin worth half a cent.

Peter McGowan purchased the two-bedroom apartment for 10million Scotcoins, the equivalent of £60,000.

He bought the flat from his friend and business colleague David Low, who owns Scotcoin’s intellectual property.

The businessmen met more than 20 years ago when Low was a key figure in Fergus McCann’s takeover of Celtic Football Club.

Crypto Market Cap to Reach $2 Trillion in 10 Years?

In other news, prediction that cryptocurrency asset class will reach $2 Trillion dollars in the next 10 years.  Travis seems to think this number will happen WAY sooner than that. But, we don’t have a crystal ball.

Netflix new Documentary Released.

If you have Netflix, make sure to tune into the documentary, Banking on Bitcoin.  This documentary features interviews with enthusiasts and experts, and covers Bitcoin’s roots, its future and the technology that makes it tick. It also makes a fairly compelling argument as to who Satoshi Nakamoto actually is.

Two Thumbs Up. ????

BITCOIN IS DEAD.

According to the Bitcoin obituaries, Bitcoin has died 153 times, including the very first time back in 2010, when Bitcoin was $0.23. Ouch.

http://undergroundeconomist.com/post/1528511369  Ouch.  HAHAHA. Dumbass.

Obviously, Bitcoin isn’t dead, however, it’s funny to go back and view the prognosticators and how they’ve been completely wrong.
